Bibliography of Reference Books
Apart from the NHBS publications on the subject listed in Trade Items there have been, over the years, a number of specialist publications on the subject of horse brasses. Compiled here as a reference bibliography are most of the main works, which it is hoped, will assist those collectors seeking reference to horse brasses at book fairs (or on ebay) for instance.
An asterisk * placed before a publication is used to denote that, though it may not necessarily contain chapters or pictures of individual brasses, It will however be a closely related subject containing good clear photographs depicting heavy horses wearing decorated harness and/or brasses. Those publications containing only related pages or chapters are denoted within their individual listings.
