2017
Ipsden Village Hall
The date of this year's meeting was Saturday 7th October 2017 and the competition subject Brewery Brasses. Mary Fletcher won the Jones & Bradshaw shield brass for the second year running with a splendid display of brewery brasses followed closely by runner up Rob Wrixon with his display cleverly mounted on a special board between a set of hames. The competition was judged by retired farmer Don Mitchell who also presented the awards.
Our grateful thanks go to Joe Evans who once again made the long journey from Cornwall. Joe brought along a vast range of brasses for purchase including some very rare specimens. Thanks also go to Sue Hart and Di Hanson who provided a nourishing brunch of bacon butty's.
Frank Banfield returned by popular request in the afternoon to show more vintage films which included a wartime film on thatching a corn rick also steam ploughing and many other forgotten treasures.
